Karbonn Launches Fashion Eye Smartphone Range with Pre-Installed Al-Based App

Karbonn has finally taken a deep plunge in the sector of artificial intelligence, with the launch of its all new app known as ‘Fashion Eye’. The India-based company has joined hands with Al Start-up Staqu for inculcating features based on artificial intelligence in their new range of Fashion Eye Smartphones. Both Fashion Eye and Fashion Eye 2.0 will come pre-installed with the app.

The app generates results after analysing an outfit photograph. The search engine (Al) inside the app automatically decodes the colours, patterns and prints for coming up with most relevant ecommerce websites. The app even allows comparing the outfits of different sizes, thus giving the user with the power to make informed decisions.

Shashin Devsare, Executive Director- Karbonn Mobiles, recently stated, “Our partnership with Staqu is another step towards dissolving adoption barriers by offering users a seamless online buying experience regardless of their digital proficiency. Amassing a base of an estimated 20 thousand users within the beta phase of the app launch, we are highly confident about the consumer response to our Fashion Eye range expecting it to push our VAS revenue streams to go up to 10-15 percent by the end of FY 2016-2017.”

Pradeep Jain, Managing Director, Karbonn Mobiles says, “We don’t look to repeat what Google or Apple, have already done. What we are looking at as artificial intelligence would be a very deeper integration of how you able to make up your mind for, let’s say shopping.”

As far As Fashion Eye Smartphone is concerned, the device became unofficially available for sale in India over Amazon with a price tag of Rs 5490. The handset features a display of 5.5 inch, inbuilt storage of 8GB, 1.3GHz quad-core ARM Cortex-A7 processor coupled with a RAM of 1GB, rear camera of 8MP, front shooter of 3.2 MP and a battery of 2000 mAh.
